35 Weeks....

He's a....
Honeydew Melon!!!

Well.. as the picture illustrates.. Baby Whitaker is getting larger by the minute. Mom had a good report at the doctor's office Friday and we have now moved on to our one-a-week visits.

Today was a fun filled day for mom, dad and the Mimi and Papa Bohnhoff, Auntie Grace and Uncle Nathan and friends! We had a jack and jill shower, hosted by the Thompson's, and had a blast! Baby Whitaker racked up more clothing, bottles, diapers, a bouncer seat, a play mat and much more! We have such wonderful friends and a nurturing church who is going to help take care of us! Thanks be to God for his wonderful gifts!

Until next week- the honeydew is holding tight and letting mom get through finals!

34 Weeks....

He's a..... Cantaloupe

This week Baby Whitaker is a nice, juicy, orange cantaloupe! (and that's exactly what mom's belly looks like too!) They say he weighs about 4 and 3/4 pounds, although at our Dr's visit a week ago he was 4 and 1/2. So, he's probably about 5 pounds. He is about 18 inches, growing quickly and kicking all the time!

Baby Whitaker received several nice gifts at his first baby shower yesterday! (Good thing, mom and dad don't have much of anything!) We got plenty of clothing, diapers, a bath tub and our stroller and car seat!! Baby Whitaker was hangin' with the ladies yesterday... an early start! We have another shower next week and are very excited that it's for boys and girls so dad gets to come too!

33 Weeks...

Well, we don't have pictures of the baby upcoming his arrival. However, from the beginning of the pregnancy we have been receiving weekly emails from Babycenter.com with updates on his development. Part of this includes a weekly fruit or vegetable that the baby is comparative to.

For the last few weeks, we will share which fruit or veggie he is each week. Although we can't see him yet, you can join us in watching him grow by food metaphors!

This week: He weighs over 4 pounds and has reached 17 inches in length. He is a......
