More Pictures from Owen's Birthday!

Hi Everyone!

It's day two... and Mom, Dad and Owen are doing great. We'd like to share some more pictures with you of Owen Patrick's big day.

Here he is, waving at y'all!

Here's a Rorschach test... who does he look like?

Bath time!

He's eating well... and already pooped eight times. We're in love! We'll be sure to update you with pictures from Day 2 very soon!

Owen is Here!

He's here!

We are proud to announce the arrival of our new prince:

Owen Patrick Whitaker

Born: June 9th, 2008
6:11pm
8lbs. 1 ounce

He's absolutely perfect. Owen, mom, dad and the family are doing so well!

The story: Mom and Dad went in at 6:30am to be induced. The nurses didn't start the pitocin until 8:30am. Mom started having contractions around 9:30am. At 10:00am mom was dilated 3cm. Each hour she dilated another centimeter and by 6:00pm, she was ready to push. He was ready! Mom had to wait for the doctor... and it only took three pushes! He made his presence known right away and sprinkled all over the nurse. He is quite hungry. He has already had 2 meals... and a little present in his diaper for grandmother Bohnhoff.

Thank you for all of your cards, prayers and love!

39 Weeks....

We may have skipped a week... but we have made progress. He's a stereotypical watermelon in size this week! Hopefully soon to come... I don't know how much bigger mom can take! Last week the doctor report was good. Baby Whitaker is about 7 pounds, still head down but not any further dilated. The nursery is ready and we all await his coming with expectation!!! Can't wait!

37 Weeks....

Happy Mother's Day! And we've moved on to a.... Stalk of Swiss Chard??

Don't know where they come up with these things. This week the fact site says that baby Whitaker is "as lofty as a stalk of Swiss chard and weighs 6 1/3 pounds. Length: a bit over 19 inches, head to heel."

It's hard to believe that it's only a matter of days until his arrival! Today was special. Mom got to stand up at church as a "mom" and receive a rose. Dad and baby Whitaker gave mom a Starbucks card (Dad has had to limit the Starbucks she has been drinking due to low cash flow and caffeine.... even apparent in the decaf @Starbucks!) So, that was a treat. We celebrated with Grandmother and Grandfather Bohnhoff, auntie's Grace and Kage, and uncle Nate.

The weekly doctor visit was great: baby Whitaker is perfect size and mom is not dilated any more than last week! (whew, still have a little more time!)

Until next week, we're kickin' it Swiss style! :-)

36 Weeks...

He's a....
Crenshaw Melon???

Baby Whitaker is growin' melon style these days! The doctor said Friday that he is in perfect position and mom is already a CM dilated! Mom is finally done with finals! (and baby Whitaker showed obedience for the first time by not coming before she finished.) Hooray! Mom and Dad spent all day yesterday cleaning and organizing. Mom is definitely "nesting" and excited she can finally get ready for his arrival! The sleepless nights have already arrived.. thank goodness for a patient daddy! Thank you for keeping posted! We look forward to the day arriving!
Until next week,
Baby "Crenshaw"
